# How to work with an API gateway

To create an API gateway directly:

* Click on APIs and integration>API gateway on the left side panel.

* Click the \[+ API gateway] button.

* To create an API gateway in an API:

1. Go to the API.
2. In the “Select or add default API gateway” field, click the \[+] button.
3. Enter the API gateway name and click the \[Save] button.

* To select an API gateway in an API:

1. Click on the drop-down menu in the “Select or add default API gateway” field
2. Select the required API gateway.
